We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Estimator with practical machining or fabrication experience. Review customer requests, blueprints, and technical specifications to create accurate cost estimates.
Roles and Responsibilities
Quotation Preparation (Primary Focus)
-Review customer requests, blueprints, and technical specifications to create accurate cost estimates.
-Calculate material costs, labor hours, tooling, and production timelines for machining and fabrication projects.
-Develop clear and competitive quotes that balance customer needs and company profitability.
Cost Analysis
-Research material prices and subcontracted services to ensure up-to-date and realistic estimates.
-Adjust pricing based on current market trends, job complexity, and customer requirements.
Customer Communication
-Work closely with customers to clarify project details, timelines, and expectations.
-Address inquiries and revisions promptly and professionally to build trust and satisfaction.
Collaboration with Internal Teams
-Coordinate with production, engineering, and purchasing to ensure estimates are feasible and align with operational capabilities.
-Share project details and requirements with team members to streamline production planning.
Continuous Improvement
-Analyze completed projects to refine future estimates and improve accuracy.
-Stay informed about machining and fabrication techniques, tools, and market trends to enhance quotation quality.
Required Skills
-Strong understanding of CNC machining and fabrication processes.
-Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
-Excellent attention to detail and proficiency in cost calculation.
-Good communication skills for customer interactions and team collaboration
Pay: $27.00 – $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
